No matter where an organization resides in the world, there are growing pressures related to transparency, regulation and performance, all converging on the enterprise at the same time.Business intelligence has evolved from a local view to a global perspective.

Adding to this situation are competitive pressures that force management to more and more rely on disciplines such as the balanced scorecard, value based management and enterprise performance management to measure the impacts on the enterprise.

Because strategy forms the link among management disciplines, business intelligence and competitive intelligence, any implementation of these techniques must be undertaken in context of the entire business and leverage best technical practices including the web, data warehousing and information integration. In particular, business intelligence has matured as a discipline to the point that it can provide an enterprise platform for a strong response to all these pressures.

This seminar is intended for individuals and organizations who already have a fledgling, underutilized, or non-integrated business intelligence/performance reporting capabilities in place and need to more effectively use them in their enterprise. For virtually all organizations, the focus targets the contextual use of data, leveraged for multiple purposes, makes judicious use of internal as well as external data and finally leverages content to improve the understanding of enterprise performance for all stakeholders.

Business intelligence requires more than just rolling up data for senior managers: if source data is not delivered in a clear and concise manner and just as important, in context of pressing business issues, at best they will be misled, at worst they will make decisions based on bad information. Performance management concepts must be integrated with content appropriate for the audience which facilitates the understanding of what actions need to be driven based on the content. In addition, to make business intelligence real, new technologies and architectures must be leveraged for best value.
